Memories of school dance competitions๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ’“

Talking about some memories from school dance competitions, I have been participating in dance competitions since I was 13 years old. I decided to post on this blog about one of the dance competitions I participated in. That was the dance competition I went to when I was in A/L. Only my best friend and I studied dance in A/L. We both played low country drum solos. I played the drums. My friend helped me with the tune. This is a photo taken during those training days.

Two dances participated in the competition, our drum solo dance and the brother's lowcountry dance. On practice days, I practiced until late at night at school. We secretly pick and eat mangoes. Being at school in the evening is a different feeling. There are no children at school at that time. At that time, only the children from the dance group and the teacher were in the school. If you make a mistake, everyone gets beaten up. Everyone shares and eats one packet of rice. So much fun during training. After training, we won the zonal and provincial competitions and trained for the All - Ceylon competitions. We left the day before the competition. Since We had to go from Polonnaruwa to Horana, We stopped at the temple near the school where the Horana competition was held the day before. They went to the temple, ate, washed, and then went to sleep. It was late when I went to bed because I was talking. Sir came early in the morning, woke us up, and told us to get ready. I got dressed, had breakfast, put on makeup, and got ready. This is a photo taken after it was ready.

Went to school and presented the competition, Won third place overall. Our other dance team also won first place in the entire Sri Lankan competition. We left happily.

It was night when we returned to school. People were there to welcome us. Those unforgettable days.
